When the volume of transformer oil increases or decreases with the increase of oil temperature, the oil storage tank can adjust the oil volume accordingly to ensure that the oil volume in the tank is always at a suitable level. If there is no oil conservator, the fluctuation of the oil level in the oil tank will bring the following unfavorable factors: First, the exposure of the iron core and coil when the oil level decreases will affect the heat dissipation and insulation; Second, with the fluctuation of the oil level, the air is discharged and sucked in from the cracks in the box cover, and because of the high oil temperature in the upper layer, the oil quickly oxidizes and gets wet. The oil level in the oil conservator is smaller than that in the fuel tank so that the contact surface between oil and air can be reduced, and the oil can be prevented from being oxidized and wetted too quickly. Third, the oil conservator’s oil hardly participates in the circulation of the oil tank at ordinary times. Its temperature is much lower than the upper oil temperature in the oil tank, and the oxidation process of oil is much slower. Therefore, with an oil conservator, it can prevent the excessive oxidation of oil.
