The protective relay (Gas Relay) is one of the transformer non-electric quantity protection devices, which can protect the transformer on the load Tap Changer/body in case of internal failure during operation, make accurate judgment and action, and achieve the purpose of preserving the on-load tap changer and transformer body.

The gas relay is a primary protection device for internal faults of the immersed Transformer and oil engaged on the load tap changer. The gas relay (gas relay) is installed on the connecting pipeline between the transformer and the oil conservator. When the internal fault of the transformer causes oil decomposition to produce gas or oil flow impulse, the contact of the gas relay will connect the specified control circuit and send a signal in time or automatically cut off the transformer.
